📢 New Podcast: "reality check – awareness" starts!
01.12.2025It is time – our podcast is entering the second round!
Those who have been following our work for a while remember that in 2022 we had exciting discussions with "aware affect" about critical discrimination and intersectional work in the context of events. Now we return with fresh air, a new name, and additional perspectives: ”reality check – awareness“.
In several episodes, we dive into deep and inspiring conversations with great guests from various fields. They bring their experiences, perspectives, and expertise in awareness work and event organization – and show how both can be thought of together. We address questions such as:
🔹 What does awareness mean from a Black perspective – historically and today? And how can events be designed that do not reproduce anti-Black racism?
🔹 What barriers – from racism to exclusion in queer spaces – do transfeminine peopleexperience, and how can we overcome them?
🔹 Is awareness a "German invention" and where are the origins of the practice?
🔹 Do awareness structures sometimes reproduce beauty standards, ableism, or fatphobia – and how can this be prevented?
🔹 How do we build functional awareness structures with limited resources in the rural areas of Saxony ?
🔹 And most importantly, how do we remain capable of action – in personal, structural, and global crises – and bear collective responsibility?
In the near future, there will be more information. Until then, feel free to follow us on Instagram (@initiative.awareness) to stay updated!
